NEWH’S SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY DESIGN COMPETITION

The NEWH Sustainable Hospitality Design Competition will provide students with the opportunity to showcase their design skills while utilizing the very best in sustainable design products and practices.  This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your talent to major design professionals and win a $5000 scholarship for yourself and a matching award for your school program!  The winning student and school shall be honored at HD Expo 2010 in Las Vegas.

The competition, the design of a sustainable full service Resort Spa and Salon, is open to all interior design students (Junior level and above) attending an accredited program.  Students must execute a dynamic, creative, cutting edge design utilizing the very best products and technologies which encompass sustainable products/materials and construction practices. In addition to the physical aspects of design, the functional daily use of the space in a "green" sense should be considered as the design of a space can encourage recycling and reuse by all occupants.

The Resort Spa and Salon design shall encompass a maximum of 16,000 square feet of space (includes all interior, outdoor areas and entry space) which may include: treatment rooms, hair, manicure/pedicure services, men's hair /shaving services, pools, Jacuzzis, plunge pools and specialized therapy areas.
